AIRFLOW PRODUCTS' DATA SHEET

Updated: Apr 9, 2023

One of the areas CFD can assist with is improving products' performance and generating technical data sheets using airflow analysis.

This analysis can be applied for the air, wind, rain penetration, heat, smoke, fire, dust, mist, gas, odour, pollution, etc for various types of ventilation products (louvre, ventilator, fan, filter, dampers, range hood, duct, AC units, etc).

This will be helpful for the domestic suppliers to generate technical datasheets based on related Australian Standards and NCC.

For the sample, a louvre was tested in CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software to obtain its aerodynamic performance.

We used CFD Simulation to perform a steady-state analysis to obtain credible data on this louvre.

Face velocities were used to obtain pressure drops at each instance. These pressure drops were then used to calculate the Ci value for each instance and averaged out to a Cd value for the product.

These were all done according to AS4740.
